The Role

To meet our growth and expansion goals, we’ve built and deployed solutions at scale with multiple approaches across various tools and cloud providers. Our user experience in particular is rapidly evolving to meet our customers needs and it requires strong frontend engineers to evolve it day by day. You take ownership of our frontend, turning wireframes into working software. You pay close attention to the detail and ensure the customer experience is like no other. You bring the best practices in frontend development, and combined with a focus on practical problem-solving for today and long-term thinking for tomorrow, you shape our customer’s experience of interaction with the platform.

Who you will work with: As Frontend Engineer, you will also be a member of the Platform team (product, design & engineering) and report to the Engineering Manager. In addition to working with the core team of product managers, engineers, and designers, you will work with many internal stakeholders, including the CEO, CTO, COO, Customer Success, Marketing, and Analytics.

Responsibilities

As a Frontend Engineer at Stears, your responsibilities are to:

Build

  • Craft reusable frontend components to be applied across the platform
  • Translate wireframes into working code with extremely high attention to detail, empathy for our customers, and a mindset of continuous improvement and shared responsibility across design and frontend
  • Collaborate with design and product on user research and translate learnings into software development
  • Deliver on new product roadmap features that will be incrementally added to the platform

Collaborate

  • Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering (in particular other Frontend engineers and Backend engineers) on a coordinated product roadmap
  • Keep abreast of the frontend ecosystem and act as a link for the team to the best practices as they develop
  • Collaborate with the wider team to solve urgent issues and bugs that come up
  • Attend daily scrum meetings to plan and align on work to be done
  • Work with the rest of the product development team, including reviewing work, refining stories, planning sprints, and delivering sprint commitments

We are looking for someone with:

  • At least 3 - 4 years experience in frontend software development, using
    • HTML, CSS and Javascript
    • Reactjs, Typescript, Storybook & NextJS
    • Experience with REST API and GraphQL
    • Experience with In-house and 3rd party API integrations
    • Knowledge or interest in atomic design principles
    • Some no-code website builder background (webflow, etc.)
    • Some CMS background on webflow, etc..)
    • Ownership of CICD practices
    • Experience with Gitlab/Github
    • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes & Helm
    • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (GCP Preferably) and FE deployment patterns
  • Experience building reusable and scalable frontend components
  • Experience writing clean and maintainable code
  • Experience building real-time web applications
  • Experience building on CMS platforms for non-engineering teams
