The Role:
As a Senior Product Manager at Pachama, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our platform's capabilities in the areas of Machine Learning and DMRV (Digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, science, and operations, to design, develop, and optimize our product offerings to solve evolving customer needs.
Our DMRV program seeks to modernize the process of tracking forest carbon projects through remote sensing, AI/ML processing, and other modern automation techniques. You will work with a team of forest scientists, remote sensing scientists, data scientists, and ML engineers. While you don’t need to hold this expertise yourself, you should be comfortable working with leading experts and bringing their work to market as customer-ready products.
This role is remote within the United States within North American time zones only.
Who We Are:
Pachama harnesses AI and satellite data to empower companies to confidently invest in nature. Using the latest technological advances, Pachama delivers continuous insight into how forests sequester carbon, protect wildlife and benefit local communities. These insights enable leading companies to find the world’s best projects and track their impact over time while also helping land stewards earn an income with tools to develop carbon projects and secure funds.
Pachama has evaluated hundreds of nature-based carbon projects around the world and originated its own Pachama Originals projects across Brazil, Mexico and the United States, driving funding to protect and restore millions of hectares of land. The company has served climate leaders such as Salesforce, Nespresso, Shopify and Boston Consulting Group and is backed by investors including Lowercarbon Capital, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Future Positive, Amazon Climate Pledge Fund, Y Combinator and Deutsche Telekom.

What You Will Help Us With:

  • DMRV Product Strategy: Develop a comprehensive product strategy for our DMRV offering for carbon project origination, aligning with Pachama's vision and business objectives.
  • Feature Development: Lead end-to-end product development, from ideation to implementation, ensuring that new features meet internal and external customer needs and adhere to industry best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and operations teams to prioritize and execute product initiatives effectively.
  • Carbon Market Standards Compliance: Ensure our organization adheres to existing carbon market standards, guaranteeing that our carbon credit issuance and verification processes consistently meet industry norms.
  • Standards Leadership & Advocacy: Represent our organization within carbon market standards bodies, actively shaping new carbon credit issuance and verification protocols to ensure alignment with our innovative solutions.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, regulatory changes, and customer requirements in the carbon credit and carbon offset space.
  • Metrics and Analytics: Define and track key performance metrics to measure the success and impact of your team’s work, utilizing data-driven insights to guide product decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including project partners and customers, to gather feedback and build strong relationships.
  • Product Evangelism: Act as a subject matter expert, representing Pachama's product offerings in industry events, conferences, and customer engagements.

Experience & Skills We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of professional experience, with some product management experience required.
  • Experience with DMRV, carbon markets, or related systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile product development methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, managing complex projects, and delivering high-impact results.
  • Passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to make a meaningful impact on the planet.
Even if you don’t meet all these requirements, we encourage you to apply if this job description excites you. We are looking for ambitious people to help make an impact on climate change. That purpose requires us to bring together a diverse set of people with different backgrounds, perspectives, and skills to create solutions that work for all.
